Christmas Quail

Mom wanted a blue bird for Christmas this year and picked out this one- a California Quail, which is not exactly blue.  She got an offer in the mail about this lovely picture: fineartamerica.com/products/fi… for some bird magazine and then asked if I could draw it instead. I shall admit, it is a far cry from the beauty of the original but she adored it so I do hope it has some charm. God the feathers, THE FEATHERS. They were the death of me.... and yet I am drawing a barn owl now.  I am a masochist.
